Dedicated hosting is the hosting of a dedicated server. There are a number of reasons that you might consider having your own dedicated server, rather than using shared hosting, including (but not limited to):
Running a dedicated server requires a certain amount of expertise, and it's usually recommended that you run a managed server.
- Performance: You need the full resources of the server to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
- Security: You need the added security of knowing that nobody else can access the physical machine on which everything is hosted.
- Flexibility: You need the flexibility to deploy your own applications in an environment completely controlled by you, rather than being restricted by a shared environment.
- Scale: You or your company run and manage a number of websites, and it would just make more sense to run them off of your own server, rather than in a number of disconnected shared-hosting accounts.
